ABOUT ME.
Alex Casimir is a Brooklyn based filmmaker who hates talking about himself but will give it a go anyway.
He graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.F.A in Film and Television Production. As a half Black/half Chinese filmmaker, his work looks to explore the intersectionality of history, race, and masculinity with a touch of magical realism. Which is a more pretentious way of saying he enjoys identity pieces that not only examine the individual but the time in which they operate.
His shorts have screened at international festivals such as Aesthetica Short Film Festival, Palm Springs Shortsfest, Austin Film Festival, and NFFTY. He was also a finalist for the 2024 Sundance Ignite x Adobe Fellowship.
He currently works as a Creative Specialist at NBCUniversal, a part of the Marketing and Brand Partnerships team. He’s worked with clients such as Bravo, Maybelline, Make-a-Wish, Delta Airlines, and The National Constitution Center.
